Text Box:  21. This composers is one of the most respected. In fact, Goulding ranks him the 6th greatest of all time. He is often mentioned as one of the three GREAT B’s…the other two being Bach, and Beethoven. His name is Johannes (Yo hann is) Brahms (BramZ). He was born in Germany in 1833 and died in 1897 at age 64. There are many interesting facts about him, but we only have time to share two fun ones...the first being that he loved eating sardines so much, that he would eat them right out of the can, and then drink the oil down…and the second that he had a trick chair he loved to ask people, especially women, to sit in. As soon as they did, the back would collapse with the occupant’s legs swinging upwards towards the sky. Of course, this gave him great merriment.

A famous work you all know by him is his Cradle Song...also called Brahms’s Lullaby. By the way it was the only lullaby he wrote, but is the world’s most famous.
